The camping site The campground Álfaskeið is one of the secret wonders of South Coast of Iceland. It is situated in a small, green valley in the south side of Langholt Hill. For almost a century it has been the meeting place of the farmers in the area. The last few decades it has become a popular campground for everyone.

Little farms, a lot of horses on the fields, natural hot springs, sand fields, mountains, glaciers and volcanically active areas define the landscape.

Our campground is conveniently situated, close to many of the most beautiful tourist attractions in the area: like the famous hot spring Geysir and The Golden Waterfall Gullfoss

Relax in a picturesque setting close to the 12 th century cathedral Skálholt, the &thori;ingvellir National Park and not too far away is the valley Thjorsardalur and the Landmannalaugar wilderness.The Landmannalaugar area is famous for its natural beauty. The area consists of many geological elements, most obvious being the rhyolite mountains and the lava fields. The many mountains in the surrounding area are colored in variations of pink, brown, green, yellow, blue, purple, black, white and much more beautiful colours.

On Saturday nights we usually light a big campfire.
